Welcome to the Mighty King Church
Our Vision
The Vision of this ministry is based on the word of God by Isaiah,
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.”(Isaiah 2:2)
Our vision is to develop a community of believers and Disciples of Christ of all nations totally committed to a Christ-like ministry in the spirit of servant evangelism, compassion, and love for God. We envisage a place of refuge that is dedicated to the promotion of the overall wellbeing of its members in terms of cognitional, volitional, emotional, and physical healthiness, as well as, spiritual wellbeing. We visualize a community where everybody is their brother’s and sister’s keeper so that the whole man is thoroughly nourished spiritually and physically.
We shall be a people of excellence that is united in worship and love for God and humanity; committed to living holily and righteously, and dedicated to ensuring the universality of the gospel of salvation of mankind through the process of disciple making: preparing, developing, and equipping the disciples so that they, in turn, can make other disciples.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop a body of believers who are committed to glorifying God in their lifestyles; sharing Christ with whomever they come in contact with, preaching the gospel of our Lord and endeavoring to move people unto God’s agenda and purpose for their lives. In doing this, we will be committed to carrying out the Great Commission of our Lord to go into the world, make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to obey all that He has commanded us (Matt. 28:19-20). We will treat our neighborhood, our places of work, and our playgrounds as our mission fields, and organize worldwide evangelical missions.
The Mighty King Church is committed to reaching out to lost souls, sharing with them the love of God that prompted Him to give us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and to encourage them to enjoy that love in absolute liberty that is only possible through Christ. We are committed to being our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers.
We are committed to occupying until our Lord Jesus Christ returns, smashing the kingdom and dominion of Satan here on earth and ushering in the Kingdom of the Mighty King, Lord, and God.
Our Core Values
Faith
At The Mighty King Church, faith is our foundation. We believe in the transformative power of God’s Word and are committed to walking in the path of Christ, trusting in His divine purpose for our lives and our city.
Community
We are more than a congregation; we are a family. We strive to create a welcoming space where every individual is valued, supported, and loved. Together, we grow in spirit and build lasting bonds that honor God.
Service
Following the example of Jesus, we dedicated ourselves to serving others. Whether through local outreach or global missions, our mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ, bringing hope and help to those in need.
Our Beliefs
The Trinity and the Godhead
We believe in the Unity of the Godhead and the Trinity of the Persons therein: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We affirm that there is only one true God, an infinite and eternal Spirit, existing eternally in three distinct persons who are equal in nature and attributes, yet distinctive in personality, functioning in perfect unity of will and purpose. (Gen. 1:1; Deut. 4:35; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)
God the Father and Creation
We affirm that God the Father is the source of all blessings. By His power and authority, He spoke the universe into existence in six historical days. He remains sovereign over all affairs of the universe. We believe humankind was created in the image and likeness of God and given dominion over the earth. (Gen. 1:26; Isa. 48:16)
The Nature of Humanity and Regeneration
We believe that through Adam’s trespass, humanity fell into the slavery of sin and utter depravity. Because no one has the power to live righteously on their own, repentance and regeneration are necessary. Through the Holy Spirit, God imparts the “Divine Nature” to the believer, enabling a life of holiness and godliness. We believe in the eternal doom of the finally impenitent. (Rom. 3:23; 6:23; 2 Peter 1:4; Gal. 5:22-23)
Jesus Christ: Our Savior
We believe in the virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is fully God and fully man. His voluntary sacrifice provided redemption for mankind, and He now sits in abiding intercession for us. We look forward to His second coming and millennial reign upon the earth. (John 1:1-2; Phil. 2:5-11; 1 Thes. 4:16-17; Rev. 22:20)
Justification and Sanctification
We affirm that justification is a gracious gift received through faith in the finished work of Christ, not by our own works. Through sanctification—a continuous renewal by the Holy Spirit—the believer is dedicated to holy living, yielding themselves to God as a living temple. (Eph. 2:8; Rom. 6:8-13; 1 Thes. 4:3)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, the agent of the new birth, and the one who indwells and sanctifies believers. He baptizes and endues the Church with spiritual gifts for edification, exhortation, and comfort. We encourage all believers to be equipped with these gifts. (1 Cor. 12:4-11; John 7:38-39)
The Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
Water Baptism: We believe in baptism by immersion for believers of responsible age as a sign of being buried and raised with Christ.
The Lord’s Supper: We believe true believers should partake in the bread and wine as emblems of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus, showing His death until He returns. (Matt. 26:26-29; Rom. 6:3-8; Acts 20:7)
Leadership & Vision
Pastor Michael Obanla, PhD.
Pastor Michael Obanla is the Senior Pastor of The Mighty King Evangelical Church of All Nations. Pastor Mike grew up in The Apostolic Church, a worldwide Pentecostal and Apostolic organization with its world headquarters in Pennygroes, Wales, United Kingdom. He was called into pastoral ministry in 1998 and was ordained an associate pastor that year in Washington, DC. The following year he was ordained a full-fledged pastor and inducted as the first pastor of The Apostolic Church, Boston, MA, which the Lord used him to plant. The church grew and planted two other churches: one in Worcester, MA and the other in Woonsocket, RI.
In 2010, he felt that the Lord was leading him in the direction of Christian apologetics. The need to go into seminary was very strong and urgent on him. He enrolled at Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, VA, and obtained the Master of Arts (MA) degree in Theological Studies (2011), the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree (2013), and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Apologetics and Theology (2018) from The School of Divinity, Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA, where he currently teaches.
Pastor Michael has received much from God. God has been so gracious and merciful to him, which has made him to appreciate the more his responsibility as a shepherd of God’s flock. This has informed his ministry philosophy, which is based on the Great Commandment to love God with all his heart, with all his soul, and with his entire mind, and to love his neighbors as himself (Matthew 22:37-39).
His ministry’s philosophy is also informed by Jesus’ injunction to His disciples to be servant leaders and not to lord it over their flock, but to follow His own example as a leader who came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and give Himself a ransom for many (Matthew 20:25 – 28). He has, therefore, endeavored always to relate to others with love, compassion, and understanding, esteeming them better than himself (Philippians 2:1-4).
